Evaluation of Al2O3-SiO2-ZrO2-based ceramic compounds synthesized via sol-gel

There are few works in the literature regarding study and development of new bioceramic compounds for ophthalmologic applications, especially considering use advanced laboratory technologies such as sol-gel process, which presents possibility controlling various parameters namely temperature, stoichiometry alkalinity. In this regard, present work synthesized alumina-based combination with silica zirconia via having evaluated possibility/viability these biomaterials orbital reconstruction. The materials were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). results show formation different structures, tendency to form alpha alumina, orthorhombic mullite its monoclinic tetragonal phases, demonstrated characteristic reaction bonds between precursors, observed FTIR assay. morphological characterization highlighted that most determining factor influences agglomerate size is followed concentration. These relevant ophthalmological intrinsic properties each oxide.
